The ergonomic keyboard hardware company partners with design firm May for online rebranding.
Press Release
Santa Barbara, CA; July 28th, 2010 – TypeMatrix, an industry leader in ergonomic keyboards, is pleased to announced the launch of their new website and online store. Since it’s founding back in 1998, TypeMatrix has undergone 12 years of corporate growth all balancing on the same online platform.
“We knew the time had come to undergo an online makeover so that our web presence better reflected our innovative products,” said Henry Webber, Founder and CEO of TypeMatrix. “We thought it would be a daunting process, however our design partners at May made it a breeze by rolling out the new website in phases so we didn’t have to completely scrap the old site in one fell swoop.”
Sectioning off the site and phasing out the new release of each section made it a real collaborative process for Typematrix and it’s loyal community, as users would continually post feedback about their wants and needs. “We really took a unique approach with this rebranding effort,” said May’s Founder, Garth Humbert. “By slowing it down, we fine tuned each section using their user-feedback, and perfected each area before moving on. We didn’t feel the typical urgency, because the site was constantly improving instead of one large-scale massive overhaul where things go overlooked.”
The site continues to grow and expand, with the new blog and upcoming launch of the community forum, making the site very interactive and connecting TypeMatrix’s global users.

Ergonomic keyboards over the years..
July 17th, 2010
We’ve enjoyed viewing the array of “ergonomic keyboard” designs over the years. Some of them may potentially relieve pressure on the fingers or wrists, but the designs are so so unpractical and immobile. Some of them are downright comical- like who would actually use that?! Makes the TypeMatrix 2030 look that much more practical and smart.

Welcome to the new site!
July 6th, 2010
We’re really excited about the new launch of our complete site redesign. Our longtime friends and design partners at May have been steadily phasing out the new TypeMatrix.com since February, to gradually introduce the new “look and feel” of the TypeMatrix brand to our loyal customers. We want to thank everybody for the kind words and feedback throughout the process of rebranding and vamping up online user experience of TypeMatrix.
We want the site to serve as a community hub for our users to connect and interact with each other – to share advice and resources for those struggling with Repetitive Strain Injury or Carpal Tunnel. Make sure you check out the new areas of the site, such as the Why 2030 that gives an overview of the history of the keyboard, as well as the streamlined and easy to navigate Store. Check back often as we’ll be frequently updating our blog and unveiling a community forum in the next couple weeks.
Thank you for supporting TypeMatrix and we hope you enjoy the new site as much as we do!
