- "Yesterday I received the new 2030 USB model that I bought, and the warranty replacement
2020 model and I couldn't be happier!
I'm using the 2030 at work and I believe it will contribute significantly to my health! I'm very satisfied with the level of customer service on your part and I will continue to use and support the TypeMatrix keyboard products. I will be posting about it on my blog soon. Good luck in selling thousands of these things! I wish for everyone with a computer to buy one.
- Michael Butler, Website developer & PC Gamer
- "I used to be horrible at typing. I had to look at the keyboard and I used at most 4-5 fingers at a
time. In my line of work, such lack of typing skills really gets in the way. One day I decided that
it was enough and that I had to learn touch typing. When I was a teacher in Sweden, I had seen one
of my students use a very interesting looking keyboard during exercise sessions for a course that
I assisted. I started talking with him and I found out that he was a Dvorak enthusiast who maintained
a very interesting website about typing using a Swedish version of the Dvorak layout. I went on and
read about TypeMatrix on his website:
http://aoeu.info/s/keyboard/typematrix. I thought,
this is my chance to learn to touch type. I got a Dvorak version of TypeMatrix and I have never
looked back.
I love the 2030 keyboard, how the keys are aligned vertically, how there is a Shift key under the
left thumb, and the Backspace and Enter in the middle. Whenever I have to use another keyboard I just
wish that I had my 2030 with me. Also, you get what you pay for. Recently, my keyboard got damaged
during a move, but the nice folks at TypeMatrix sent me the pieces I needed free of charge. In summary, the 2030 is a great keyboard that I can recommend to anyone!"
- Marcin Zalewski, Postdoctoral researcher
at Open Systems Lab, Indiana University
- "I suffered with carpal tunnel in both wrists for many years, until I discovered the ergonomic benefits
of the TypeMatrix keyboard. Once I re-learned the placement of a few keys and the benefits of a shorter
distance between my mouse and my keyboard, my pain greatly diminished. I then bought another keyboard
for my work. The other fabulous aspect of TypeMatrix is customer service, where techinical support is
always patient, friendly, and technically savvy at troubleshooting any issue. I'll never use any other
keyabord ever again. It is the best ergonomic and ecologically friendly product on the market."
- Wendy Millstine, Acquisitions Editor for a
book publishing company
- We received the following letter from a participant in our keyboards-for-schools program:
"I am writing a letter to you to thank you for the great keyboard you have made. The Dvorak setup
for the keyboard (in particular) is a wonderful thing that has helped me with many of my classes.
I plan to use my Dvorak keyboard when I go to college. I am so grateful for the Dvorak setup." Grant's professor added the following below: "Grant has recently presented his senior thesis project and performed to such an amazing level he was
presented with an Outstanding Achievement Award by the Academic Director. I don't know where Grant would
be now if it hadn't been for your TypeMatrix keyboard and the generosity you showed by providing our
students with this equipment. It has made all the world of difference to Grant, who will now go on to
apply for enrollment in the ITT technical school. With much appreciation and gratitude for your generosity,"
- Grant Armstrong, student and - Janet Hanson, professor at Boulder Creek Academy
- "I totally love my EZ-Reach. I type all the time. I really like the silicone cover w/ the Dvorak
letters, I can hear other's keyboards on conference calls, but mine is silent. I think that over
the years, the softer impact will make a difference in repetitive injury risk.
- Steve McGee
- "I promised that I would send you my feedback on the skin. The first time I tried it I thought it felt a
little odd and I was afraid that I would not like it, but after about then minutes I got used to it and I
really like it. It is much quieter and it actually feels good to the touch. The plus side is that it keeps
the dust and dirt from getting on the keyboard and under the keys, which is even worse. Your products are
excellent and I will continue to recommend them to everyone!"
- Migdalia Hernandez, Medical Transcriptionist
- "Dear Typematrix,
I do not usually write testimonials, but this time I feel that I absolutely owe it to you, so go head and use
this letter as you see fit. A year or two into my career, I started to suffer from typing pains. I have fragile finger-joints and they hurt
badly from the repetitive motion of hitting keyboard keys. I tried many different keyboards (including one for
$299), but none helped, long-term. I then chanced upon the TypeMatrix. At first I didn't give it much thought. True, the reach looked impressive,
but I was still worried about the impact from hitting the keys, even though they are much flatter than a
regular keyboard. Then, I found out that the TypeMatrix comes with an optional keyboard-skin. With the help of
your customer service, we struck on this great idea of using the TypeMatrix with two skins - one on top of the
other - to soften the key-touch. Almost a year later, I am still using your keyboard with two skins, held at the
edges by a little carpet-tape to keep it snugly wrapped to the keyboard, and it has a nice bouncy, rubbery feel
to it. This setup has literally saved my computer life. This would not have happened without your well-thought-out
product, and your empathetic and sincere customer service. I also love the keyboard because it has such a small
footprint on my desktop, and leaves me plenty of room. In fact, I sometimes just put the light-weight TypeMatrix
on my knees, and lean back while I type. You should see me right now ;-) By the way, several coffee spills later, my keyboard works without a hitch, and, one more caveat, I learned to
type DVORAK, so I use your keyboard in "Dvorak mode" (with matching skins). Thanks a Million!"
- Eric G., Jersey City, New Jersey
- "I love love the TypeMatrix. I have been using it for a week (still making typos) but I
don't want to type on anything else. I will be buying a couple more. I never knew there
was a keyboard that had non-diagonal keys. I had no idea why keys were diagonal in the
first place. I just wanted you to know I think you have a great product that really
improves the typing experience."
- Shaun Snapp, Los Gatos, CA
- "I just wanted to say thank you. I just received the keyboard today. I can already feel
why this is such a good keyboard to have. Everything seems to be at the right place. I
have been using it for 30 minutes, and I can already say it is a hit. I AM USING IT RIGHT
NOW!!! The skins (both: the clear and the black one) are as soft and comfortable as you
promised. Thanks for a great product! YOU CAN QUOTE ME ON THIS, PLEASE!!!"
- Carlos Man
- "I have a TypeMatrix 2020 and have been using it for over a year. I love it. It is the third keyboard that
I've used in order to solve my particular ergonomic needs. It doesn't force me to reach past a keypad that
I'm not using in order to reach my trackball and wacom pad. For me, it has a better way of separating the
keys than the standard "ergo" keyboards. I also like that the keys are large and that there's no built-in
tilt! I like the action of the keys and that they don't clatter a lot. It's definitely my favourite keyboard
to date."
- Joan Faires, IT geek
- "I'm already convinced about the keyboard. My wife has noticed that
even as I am going through retraining pain, I complain less about hand
pain at the end of the day. Thanks for being so helpful. I'm also very
happy with the skin. I never believed it possible but it's really quite
a nice overlay. The spongy texture further reduces shock when striking
the keys and it also has the benefit of protecting the keyboard against
spills and cat fur."
- Eric S. Johansson, IT consultant
- "I am very pleased with the skins! I must confess that I was a bit
sceptical about them but they allow me to type as usual, never causes
extra keyboard typings and keeps the keys free from dust and stuff so
after a week of heavy usage i have nothing to complain about."
- H. Algestam, Dvorak advocate
- "I wanted to take a moment and thank you for such a great product! Being the only Dvorak typist
that I know, your keyboard has been the only product on the market that I've been able to use.
The TypeMatrix keyboard truly challenges the intrinsic absurdity of the standard keyboard,
proving that we can reexamine and change arbitrary yet deeply entrenched standards and end
up with a new paradigm that genuinely makes sense."
- Dusin Schueneman, Database Administrator, Petco
- "I just thought I would share my experience with the 2030. I've been using it for about 3
weeks now and have definitely noticed a significant improvement in comfort and a reduction
in pain. For the first week, I had some pain in my wrists but that was more an issue with
the height of my desk - an adjustable keyboard tray easily solved that problem. Basically,
I am quite pleased with my purchase. My employer has even agreed to buy another one so I
don't have to bring my own keyboard into the office.
Since I only ever use Linux (or some flavour of Unix), I make a lot of use of the
"modifier" keys - particularly Control. I have found that the position of the Control
key on the 2030 is not ideal for frequent use. So, I remapped the Start/Cut key to
Control. [Editor's note: John provided us with a .Xmodmap sample available on the
Tips for Users page.] Thanks a lot for a great product."
- John Calixto
- "Thanks much, love the keyboard ;)
[Editor's note: 2 weeks later] Would you mind putting a link up to
http://www.snark.de/index.cgi/0007 under
the mac section? [Editor's note: we did!] Eventually this allowed me to switch the shift to control which
should save my fingers even more. Yay mac!"
- Chuck Vose
- "I have been using the TypeMatrix 2030 for over seven months now, and the 2030 is now the _only_ keyboard
I use. I have two, and use one at work in Windows XP and the other with my iMac at home. When I use a
'normal' keyboard, it feels (and looks) like some kind of kids' toy, with huge, goofy buttons. I recommend
the TypeMatrix 2030 all the time. The non-staggered layout alone makes it indispensable.
One more thing. I've now been using the skin at work all day, and I love it! It's very comfortable to type on.
So much so that I'm actually conscious of how soft the keys feel as I type. I was really expecting it to feel
like an added layer of padding isolating me from the sensitivity of touch-typing, but that hasn't been an issue
at all."
- Shawn Milochik, IT tech / geeki

- "I purchased a TypeMatrix 2020 DQ back in June of 2005 and use it exclusively in Dvorak mode. I am 6 feet tall
with large hands and find the TypeMatrix is ideal for me even though it is much smaller than typical
'ergonomic' keyboards. The grid pattern is much more friendly for large hands. I used to experience
pains in my fingers and arms that have been totally eliminated since switching to this board. Since
switching to the 2020 and using the wonderful Dvorak tutuorial provided by TypeMatrix, I have increased
my typing speed and accuracy. My Dad is 6 feet 4 and had to undergo surgery to address the carpal tunnel syndrome
he developed over 25 years while using a standard keyboard. Thanks to this unique out-of-the-box design by
TypeMatrix, I will avoid that fate. Thank you TypeMatrix, I wish you had a wireless version.
[Editor's note: so do we!]"
- E. Peter Morenc, Mechanical Engineer
- "I have post polio syndrome (PPS) and typing hurts and further weakens my hands. The smallness of the board,
the light touch and closeness of the keys, the back space and enter in the middle, the delete on the side -
all have added up to a much more pleasant typing experience! I type a lot because that is what I can *do*
with my PPS. I have a website and lots of email exchange, this keyboard has greatly enhanced my ability to
type. It didn't take long for me to switch my mind over to this board's laybout because I really needed a
better layout and this one works for me! Thank you for creating a keyboard that places your hands in easy
reach of all of the keys and causes the stronger fingers to do the work! BTW, I also use a Curved Morency
Rest to support my arms."
- Marcia McGinnis, SHARE Atlanta, Pregnancy and Newborn Grief Support
- "I've been using my EZ-Reach 2030 Dvorak for 1 1/2 years now. I have small hands, and I've been using my
thumb to hit the Enter key; either index seems like a HUGE stretch. It feels so natural using my thumb,
I thought I should pass that on. I've read some reviews of the keyboard, and that was one of the criticisms
levelled against it. Thanks again for such wonderful keyboards. After using it so long, the only thing that
cries out for change is to put more keys underneath the space bar. I dream of another windows key in the
middle, a backspace, blue Fn key, and a couple of programmable keys!"
- Keith Buckner, Manufacturing Engineer at Boeing
- "I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy your 2020 keyboard. I am a new medical language specialist,
and while I was taking my course, I learned Dvorak typing. I needed a hard-wired keyboard for my job,
and thought I'd give the Typematrix a try. I found one on one of your eBay auctions, and thought it was
a perfect choice. Sure, I would love to have the Dvorak lettering, but since I don't look at my hands,
I guess that's not a big deal. Anyway, I got the keyboard, and I LOVE it. I hope to purchase a second
one very soon as a back up. I just wanted to say thanks for coming up with such a great product!!"
- Amy Phelps, Medical Language Specialist
- "I recently purchased the EZ-Reach 2030 and have to tell you that I truly enjoy the convenience
of the key layout. I have neuropathy in my hands and it has been much easier to use than a
conventional keyboard. A bit on the expensive side but still a great product!"
- Christopher Smith, Clinical Researcher
- "I purchased a TypeMatrix 2020 about 18 months ago. First impression: Finally, the keys are where they are
supposed to be! After 18 months: No more wrist pain and 12% increase in typing speed. Overall: I
unconditionally recommend Dvorak with a TypeMatrix keyboard to anyone who is serious about reducing
stress on their hands. All my life I've struggled with the offset keys of the "normal" keyboards, and
the Microsoft "Ergonomic" version just made things worse. The TypeMatrix 2020, with it's wide offset,
was an easy transition from the Microsoft ergonomic keyboard, and the keys were finally arranged
sensibly - in straight rows. Changing to the Dvorak key layout was much harder, but worth it. I LOVE
the fact that I can switch the keyboard back and forth - it's one of the reasons I chose the TypeMatrix."
- Aaron Thorp, Project Manager
- "Your keyboard is revolutionary and I can't imagine going back to a regular keyboard. I notice my hands no
longer pronate and supinate to meet the demands of the awkward typewriter style keyboards. This has made
typing much less strenuous for extended programming sessions."
- Jarom Lee, Programmer
- "I have been typing on this laptop's QWERTY keyboard for about two weeks and my hand already feels like a nerve
is being pinched. As a programmer at both home and the office, I do a significant amount of typing: 10 to 12
hours most days. I have been doing this for a few years without problem using the Typematrix keyboard. I'm
anxiously waiting for the adapter to arrive so I can switch back to the TMx."
- Kevin L'Huillier, Programmer
- "I am not one who usually contacts companies about their products, but I had to let you know how much I love
your keyboard. I am a medical transcriptionist. I had polio when I was 3 that affected my right side. One of the
things it did was cause my fingers to be shorter on my right hand. I started using your keyboard full time
yesterday and immediately increased my line count by 20 lph as well as taking less time to accomplish that. I
just had to let you know how much I love your keyboard and intend to recommend it."
- Mary Bragg, Medical Transcriptionist
- "I absolutely LOVE the keyboard, and as I tell everyone, ''My keyboard goes where I go, or I don't type!'' I
tell everyone I can how happy I am with the TypeMatrix. I'm a medical transcription student and spend a good part
of my day typing, and find the TypeMatrix keyboard layout just fabulous. I switched to using Dvorak, and the
ability to change from Qwerty to Dvorak with just two keystrokes, without messing with anyone else's computer
settings, enables me to take it with me wherever I go. What a joy!"
- Eleanor Coe, Medical Transcription Student
- "Guess what - I am typing this proudly on my new 2030 Qwerty with probably about 60% of my original speed
(mainly because I still keep ending up hitting 'Enter' instead of the letter 'B' many times.) It's so much
fun though, and it feels so good that I am optimistic to reach my original speed or even supass it within another
week or so.
I am very excited to have found the EZ-Reach! My hands feel now like my feet did when I discovered Ugg-boots
years ago and got rid of my tight shoes, or when I bought my first set of soft contacts and threw away the hard ones
that had scratched my eyes... it's one of those 'aha' experiences that make me wonder how in the world I kept
dealing with these painfully awkward conventional keyboards all these years."
- Andra Dakota, Business Development Coordinator,
Gordon Training International
- "I like your product. Using your Typing Tutor I've learned the Dvorak layout within one evening. After
repeating the lessons the next day I switched to a german Typing Tutor. Now I'm writing with ten fingers.
Even if it is not fast it's getting better and better. In the past I used 6-8 fingers. Though I didn't need
to search the letters I had to focus on the keyboard while typing. Now I can focus on the screen and see the
results immediately."
- Steve Müller
- "I received my EZR 2030-DV very quickly, and it looks really nice and sleek. It took me only a few days to learn the
Dvorak layout, thanks to the MasterMind Typing tutor. I know where all the keys are without looking at my keyboard -
something I didn't learn properly using a standard keyboard. I especially appreciate the fact that keys are all
aligned, it makes a huge difference, I don't feel 'lost' anymore. The next step in my learning is to get back to my
previous typing speed, and why not increase it since I can type with all fingers now. Overall a great product, I'm
very satisfied and would recommend it."
- Xavier Paglia, Project Engineer
- "I love, LOVE, the two EZ-Reach keyboard I got - specifically the EZR-2030. As a 15 year Dvorak typist,
I really like having the Dvorak only key labels. I also love the small, flat format - I even flip it
over when I leave the office to keep dust out! Thank you very much for creating this wonderful product."
- Gordon Hartlieb, Dvorak Enthusiast
- "I currently own an EZ-REACH 2020, and as long as I'm writing this email I should tell you much I
love this keyboard. I'm fluent in both dvorak and qwerty, but prefer dvorak... Thank you for making
such a wonderful product, I've looked over the layout for the 2030 and can't wait to own one, I
like all the improvements you seem to have made, especially the home and end keys right above the arrows."
- Brandon Beamer, Computer Science/Linguistics Student
- "I wanted to tell you about a typing tutor I found. It's called
Stamina Typing Tutor. It has Dvorak but
the really nice thing is that it allows you to put in your own phrases from your computer. This means I
will be able to practive all the hard medical words I need to learn! I am doing really well on my new
board and want to thank you for such a great product!"
- Tessa Neill, Medical Transcriptionist
- "I love it! The keyboard has changed my life forever. In addition to a hard-wired keyboard that easily
switches from qwerty to dvorak and is independent of operating system, the thoughtful key placement allows
for less hand movement and less stress on the wrists! The free adapter and great deal for 2 boards was a
nice touch. Your keyboard gets my highest rating. I plan to recommend it to my patients with repetitive
motion problems as well as freinds who spend lots of time on the computer in order to prevent problems
from occuring."
- Michael L. Aaronson, M.D.
- "Just wanted to comment that this keyboard took me only a couple of days to adapt to and use effectively.
I started typing faster and with less mistakes than I used to because the keys are actually logically
arranged and my thumbs can do some work! Thank you and keep it up!"
- Alejandro Vicente Grabovetsky, Student at Cambridge University, UK
- "I have to say that TypeMatrix is a very good product which can surely increase the precision of typing
and bring a feeling of no pain to fingers and hands. I am typing on it every day and I have to say, that
it took me only about 3 weeks to get adapted to a new system.
Meanwhile, I have published several articles and showed it on a TV broadcasts. Here are some of the
publications:
Video from TV
keyboard review in the top rated Slovak IT portal
product announcement site"
- Milan Gigel, IT Journalist, Slovak Republic
- "The keyboard is great! I have taught myself to touchtype on the Dvorak layout, though I am a bit
slow at the moment. I had started learning QWERTY on a regular keyboard but this has made the switch
so much easier. The matrix layout coupled with the Enter and Back Space keys in the center are such
an improvement. A great design! Thanks."
- David Jones, Computer Programmer
- "I've used my TypeMatrix for about a year and a half and I love it! I retired from a medical coding job
and I could go forever on a number pad. I started a medical transciption course and the pain was terrific.
In my mind it went, why isn't there a keyboard like the number pad - vertical and horizontal? On my
ergonomic search: behold the TypeMatrix! I started my transcription course in January 2004 and I decided
to learn Dvorak. There's quite a learning curve, but well worth the effort. There's a right / left balance
so that one hand isn't used more than the other, which helps tremendously. There are no computer
adjustments to mess my husband up. Just push the button on the TypeMatrix and Dvorak is there. Magic!
One more thing about TypeMatrix and Dvorak, my errors are next to none and my speed is almost back to
95wpm. I'm betting on increasing my speed with it!
Thank you TypeMatrix. You are a godsend.
I can keep an income rolling in. I love what I do and your design plus Dvorak application allows me to
have pain-free and balanced hands, as well as, a balanced life of work and play."
- Debra Cossey, Medical Transcriptionist
- "My carpal tunnel nerves have been painfully overtaxed for about four years, now, due to a lifetime of
typing, piano playing, writing, computer programming, etc. It got to where just using a standard keyboard
for about 15 minutes was causing pain in my wrist. I'd given up the "mouse" several years ago, in favor
of a pen tablet, which helps considerably in reducing the pain factor. But not until I switched to a
TypeMatrix keyboard, a couple of months ago, was I able to again work at the computer pain free. This has
changed my life! I'd been worried I might lose the use of my right hand, for just about everything I do to
make a living! Thanks, TypeMatrix!"
- Karen McChrystal,
Literary Services, Book Publishing, Web Design
- "It is just incredible how little thought people give to a keyboard and how important it is to the
proper functioning of everything on this side of "the box." Not only was the learning curve
minimal, but my speed has increased also -- and that translates into extra time and/or extra money
for me as a transcriptionist! To have improved on the basic keyboard this much -- not just the
shape, by curving it (or similar idea) -- but to put the enter, tab, and back space keys in the
middle where they are used most -- is a stroke of genius. Thanks again for your terrific keyboard
and wonderful service."
- Mary Sadler, Medical Transcriptionist
- "I've been using the TypeMatrix keyboard for over a year now for daily work doing medical transcription.
After a two-week adjustment my fingers are enjoying the advantages of working faster and more easily with less
strain on my little fingers. I'm able to hold the light-weight small keyboard on my lap to protect my back
and wrists. No more searching for a better keyboard for me!"
- Mary Morken, MT Daily.com, Medical Transcriptionist
- "Thank you so much for your quick response and thank you for this wonderful keyboard.
Before I used this, I thought I would have to give up transcribing due to the pain in my hands and arms
(this was using the Wave-type keyboard) ... and now, I have absolutely no pain at all!"
- Dana Watkins, Medical Transcriptionist
- "I have two TypeMatrix KB's and am planning to buy two more. They have features that go beyond ergonomic
friendliness. Their action is fast with stroke economy. They are responsive, compact (while full sized),
and become the equivalent of talking to the computer. They leave standard KB's far behind. Transition
from standard KB's is very straightforward. I simply would not go back to the standard. It has made me a
much better typist."
- Ronald Harrongton, MD
- "I am so sorry that it has taken me so long to tell you this, but I am in absolute HEAVEN since receiving
the keyboard! My learning curve was well under a week. You certainly do have an outstanding product!"
- Nina Cuccurullo, Medical Transcriptionist
- "I told Henry early this year that I would write a testimonial regarding the benefits of use of the
TypeMatrix board. At the time, I was working at relieving some carpal tunnel syndrome, and I wasn't
sure what using the board had or had not done. Now I am convinced that using it has played a part
in relieving my symptoms.
Before using the TypeMatrix, my symptoms would worsen fairly quickly with a few minutes of typing.
Now I can make use of my computer for hours at a time without experiencing a significant aggravation
of symptoms. In short, I think that using the TypeMatrix has resulted in significant relief from my
carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms. While I am a physician -- an anesthesiologist -- I make no claim
to having any inside knowledge as to the causes of carpal tunnel syndrome. The foregoing are solely
accounts of personal experience in relieving symptoms of median nerve irritation."
- Dave Learned, M.D.
- "All of the positive testimonies are as they shoud be! This a great product! I tried split keyboards,
mini-keyboards, ergonomic this, ergonomic that, but of all of them, this one was a keeper! Thanks for
saving my wrists and fingers! This keyboard only makes sense!"
- LAL
- "I just wanted to let you know that I love the TypeMatrix keyboard. The pain in my right hand is nearly
gone and my speed has picked up. Once I got used to the keyboard, I was happy to see how easy it was to
use this keyboard. Again, thanks for coming up with such a great keyboard."
- Deb Hughes, Medical Transcriptionist
- "A brief battle report: I tried to get my kids, nephews, etc. interested in Dvorak -- no luck -- they are
all such reactionaries!
Then I started using the TypeMatrix boards at home -- more groans. So I put the old keyboard and the TMx both
on the PC desk. All they had to do was to mechanically switch to their favorite. Eventually, out of laziness
they gave the TMx a try.
Within a few days, both kids (and my wife) have gone over to TMx! And the kids report they are still able to use
the older keboards at school OK.
The next step will be to get them to carry a personal TMx with them to school and work and thereby spread the
news.
Now the kids keep asking me when the latest TMx boards will come."
- Henry C. McFadyen, Long-time TypeMatrix Enthusiast
- "I hated every other "ergonomic" keyboard I looked at, and I looked at plenty. I actually had to get a new
keyboard when my husband spilled water in mine, and though I really liked the one he ruined (it was a mini
keyboard with a built in touchpad), I was amazed to find it on ergonomic sites. That keyboard was convenient,
but it was anything but ergonomic, and in the end it really did my fingers in. Your keyboard just made
sense to me, maybe because it had everything I was looking for -- small; flat; split, without forcing
contortion -- though it did take me a while to find it."
- Kate Haake, College English Professor
- "Let me preface my feedback by saying that I am a full-time administrative assistant at a major company in
Boston. My typing speed has been clocked as high as 105 wpm on a standard keyboard. I know I am typing
much faster than that with this new keyboard. My fingers just seem to fly. It took some time to develop
facility with the centralized enter and backspace keys, but now they are second nature. I find the delete
key placement awkward, but I guess that's the point, to think twice and be deliberate about deleting. I
have repetitive stress injuries and fibromyalgia, both of which are usually aggravated by typing. They
have not been acting up since I started using this keyboard about a month ago. This keyboard is amazing.
Thank you so much for developing such a wonderful product."
- Cindy Aiello, Administrative Assistant
- "I am grateful for the TypeMatrix keyboard, and I can wholeheartedly reccomend this innovative
approach to typing. As a medical transcriptionist for 20+ years, I've had sore hands and fingers with
a chronic ache in the neck and shoulders -- this discomfort is gone and typing is fun again! The alignment
makes it easy to reach the keys and the keyboard action is quick and quiet. I like the size, and weight
because it fits easily on my lap. Since using the TypeMatrix keyboard my production has significantly
improved, both in time and accuracy."
- Missy Maes, Medical Transcriptionist
- "I continue to enjoy the experience of typing on the TypeMatrix keyboard. Being 50 years old, my joints
and muscles tell me if I'm doing something repetitive that is less than optimal for my body's health.
The light touch and the openness of the flat, grid pattern make typing on this keyboard less effortful
than other keyboards I have used. This keyboard is EZ on the body! I am about to order another keyboard
so now the TypeMatrix will outnumber the conventional keyboards I currently have in my home, office and
studio by 4 to 2."
- Allan Tamm, Computer Technology Researcher
- "The TypeMatrix keyboard is the greatest! The keys are set in a manner to allow your fingers to type
in a ''natural'' hand position. The delete, backspace, and space bar keys are placed in a sensible
position thus decreasing the learning curve. I transcribe medical reports 8 hours per day; sometimes
longer if necessary. Within the first week my hands and wrists no longer ached! Without this keyboard
I could not work efficiently. I strongly reccommend the TypeMatrix keyboard to anyone who works on a
computer for a prolonged length of time."
- Marian Diamond, MLS (Medical Language Specialist)
- "I run a web site design, hosting and computer repair company so I spend a lot of time at the
computer. I first switched to an ergonomic Dvorak keyboard in hopes of increasing my typing speed.
It took me about two weeks to regain most of my speed and after a month I was typing better than
I had in my life. When I saw the TypeMatrix I was impressed with the design. It just made more sense
than the standard ergonomic layout that I had been using. I also liked the size for its portability.
Even though I switched to Dvorak, the computer repair requires me to use a Qwerty keyboard about as
much as I use Dvorak. I'm happy to say that I am able to switch back and forth between the two
layouts without a problem. One thing I have noticed since I started using the TMx is that going back
to a standard Qwerty keyboard for even a few hours causes pain in my wrists whereas the TMx doesn't.
Being 20 years old, I would like to make it to 80 without any repetitive strain injuries and I would
like to thank everyone at TypeMatrix for making this more of a reality."
- Steve Shawl, Computer Consultant
- "Can I say ''I think I'm in love?'' The feel of the keys and the quietness is wonderful.
Thank you for the very rapid response and the great suggestion of going to the TypeMatrix board!
It will take a little while to get used to the layout, but I don't foresee any difficulties
once I re-educate my brain and hands."
- Kurt Schilling, Computer Network Security
- "Your keyboard is the best I have ever used and I keep recommending it to my readers."
- Guenter Schott, Editor, Fallbrook PC Users Group Magazine
- "I will admit: I'm a picky, terribly efficient keyboard user/developer (and I have the
RSI symptoms to prove it), and am often referred to as a freak when it comes to efficiently
using a keyboard. I have reviewed _literally_ tens of ergonomic keyboards and TypeMatrix
has THE BEST ONE -- PERIOD. As far as I'm concerned, no other vendor "gets it" when it
comes to designing an efficient, ergonomic keyboard, and feel free to quote me on that.
[looks like we did ;)] In all sincerity, the attention spent on minor, remarkably helpful
details in the design of this keyboard amazes me, and that is not lip service. I honestly
rest all hope in redefining the future keyboard experience in TypeMatrix. And of course I
have to personally thank you for the outstanding, unbelievable support."
- Kristis Makris, software developer
- "I just got my keyboard and I'm really excited because I've only been practicing for a few
hours and I already like it! Of course I'm still making a lot of mistakes because I'm not
used to it yet, but I know that as soon as I get used to it, I'll get up to speed again.
I love the way if feels to the touch! The keys are springy and respond quickly with a very
light touch! Such a relief for my aching fingers! It's also so quiet!"
- Migdalia Hernandez
- "Before using the TypeMatrix keyboard I often had stiff wrists, thumbs, elbows and
shoulders after doing a long job on the computer. Yesterday I realized that I have not
had any of those aches and pains since I bought the new keyboard. What a blessing!"
- Pam Free, website designer
- "I feel like I just got the Bentley of Keyboards. WOW, this is absolutely no match
to any keyboard I have used since computers were invented. You have out-performed
once again. Thanks."
- Trygve Duryea, business consultant
- "OK, I'm not a testimonial type of guy, but I thought I ought to tell you about
an experience I just had with a small American company. I taught myself to type
dvorak a couple years ago and it's been a big improvement, especially regarding
hand/wrist strain. I finally decided about a month or two ago that I deserved a
true dvorak keyboard as well, so I could have the correct letters displayed when
I have to peek. I decided to go with the TypeMatrix dvorak (switchable to QWERTY)
board for reasons listed on their site. I didn't really see how a small flat keyboard
could be more comfortable than those large, contoured things, but, once I got used
to it, I loved it. Didn't know how much until I had a problem and wrote the company
an email tonight:
> I love my TM dvorak keyboard. BUT for some reason
> it quit working this morning. I can barely type on
> this conventional QWERTY set to dvorak via software.
> HELP!!! Is there a possible software issue I'm missing?
> I don't want this to be a hardware issue because I
> don't want to go one more day w/o my TypeMatrix.
Here's the unbelievable part: about 15 minutes after I sent the email I got a
phone call from the company. Mary asked a few questions and said she'd send out
a new keyboard tomorrow, even though I'd bought the thing from a different
retailer. Anyway, I'm still recommending dvorak for typing, but whether or not
you switch, the TypeMatrix works great and is very compact."
- Dan Arnold, attorney
- "I was looking to buy a very expensive 'ergo' keyboard when I happened on
the TypeMatrix in the showroom. It looked deceptively plain. I didn't think
it was perceptively ergonomic until I actually started messing with it and
found it was more comfortable than the fancy ones that you have to twist around
and adjust every which way. And bonus that it is so light and portable ... I
see this as having huge mainstream appeal."
- Andrew Brown, electrical engineer
- "I got used to the middle Enter and Backspace quite instantly as if it
was their natural position and the other keyboards just put them in the
wrong place."
- "The matrix layout is so easy to my typing fingers that I am in fact,
after 3 days, not able to type on a regular keyboard any longer: I'm
always hitting 2 keys at once, especially in the lower row. So I
decided to take the TypeMatrix with me all the time. Since it is light
and flat, this is no problem."
- "Plugging it in at the PC at home my children asked: 'What's this cool
thing?' I installed your typing tutor and they went through the first
3 lessons in some minutes and are eager to learn touch typing this
weekend. I never thought that only the physical existence of an
uncommon keyboard would motivate them to do this."
- "The TMx is the only keyboard - except laptops - that I can use
comfortably by putting it on my knees."
- Franz-Josef Knelangen, computer programmer
- "In my experience, this is the best keyboard available today!"
- John Dearing, carpenter
- "What I like most about this keyboard is the vertical rows, the flat
design, the compact size, the Dvorak key layout, and the dual mode key
(Function)."
- Mark Andrews, political theorist, magazine
distributor, massage therapist
- "If I had to pick ONE thing that I like most about this keyboard, it
would definitely be the matrix layout, the non-staggered rows. I love
practically everything about it though."
- Kyle Nguyen, web designer, retail website
- "What I like most about this keyboard is the fact that you can use such
tiny moves of the fingers to type."
- Hank McFadyen, attorney
- "The small footprint enables me to put both my mouse and the keyboard
on the keyboard tray. I really like that."
- Jochen Rick, Computer Science PhD. student
- "I appreciate all the work you've put into the boards, and my wrists thank you."
- Andrew Stroscher, Screenwriter
- "Backspace and Enter keys in the center - Brilliant!"
- Paul Haag, real estate agent
- "I dream about replacing the Qwerty keyboard on a notebook and
inserting this one in its place. Then I would buy (a notebook). I
won't buy what's on the market today."
- Waldo T. Boyd, tech author / editor
- "My old (keyboard) has been sitting there in view from the time I
started on the TypeMatrix, and I have yet to be impelled to go back to
it - even for kicks. The TypeMatrix is for me. And at the risk of
repeating myself, the Typing Tutor is wonderful, just what I need to
overcome my adjustment to the new improvements to the new keyboard.
I'm happy to say that I just turned 80 and this old timer may have a
willing spirit, but can use all the help he can get with the flesh,
amen! I'll be hitting all the 'k's in no time!"
- Thomas J. Scannell, octogenerian, writer
- "I like the overall size of the keyboard. I'm adjusting to the
closeness of some of the keys."
- Marie Meador, administrative officer
- "I recently purchased a TypeMatrix keyboard. I ordered one within an
hour after I discovered its existence, because I expected it to solve
the main problems I am experiencing with the wide spead prehistoric
keyboards. My expectations were met!
1. one key switching to Dvorak,
2. the keys are now where my fingers would expect them to be,
3. my mouse is close to my right hand,
4. scroll lock no longer hinders me."
- "Besides this, I also like the central Backspace and Enter keys. Having
them available to both hands is very convenient, since a correction
can be made faster: backspace with one hand while the other hand
already had the right position for typing the next character."
- "After having used the keyboard for less than one day, I have instantly
ordered a second one, so I can use it both at home and at the office."
- "I have been working as a professional software developer and
consultant for over 20 years. I finally have a keyboard that frees me
from the tortures of the mechanical typewriter age."
- "My child is currently at the age where she can start learning to type.
With the TypeMatrix keyboard, she will make a much better start than
her friends. As a parent, I thank you for this!"
- "One more small remark about my daughter (10 years old), learning to
type. It's amazing to see how fast children learn these days. Two days
ago she started learning to type, using the MasterMind typing tutor.
She started writing her first letter, all without looking at the
keyboard. I am not exaggerating."
- Edwin van Grinsven, consultant, The
Netherlands
- "Thanks to your keyboard, my typing speed has improved, my fingers
don't get cramped, and I am unable to type at all on 'normal'
keyboards without cursing and staring at my fingers, hehe."
- Jano Lukac, business broker
- "A quick note to tell you how great your TypeMatrix keyboard is. I've had it for a few
weeks and ... my typing speed has almost trippled. There is much less arm and shoulder
fatigue with the TypeMatrix keyboard. While your keyboard is just slightly wider than my
IBM T20 laptop you put the space where it's needed: in the center between the key modules.
Also important, you've made the key faces nice and wide, being a bit wider than standard
laptop keys. The result is the TypeMatrix takes up less space on my desk, yet has a better
feel than any 'traditional' keyboard. And yes, that includes my former favourite, the
IBM-style 'hard-click' keyboard."
- Mike Nagy, writer
- "I got my two keyboards today and the improvements (to the original model) are wonderfule.
Every one of them is useful and well thought out. I especially like immediate access to
the F-keys. The extra Tab key is good and moving the Caps Lock is great. I'm happy as a
clam."
- Larry Miller
